Our Frequently Asked Questions
When is the nursery open?
- We are open Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 6:00pm
- We are closed on weekends, bank holidays, and between Christmas and New Year
- Session options:
- 7:30am – 8:00am Early Breakfast session (additional charge, bookable 24 hours in advance)
- 8:00am – 6:00pm Full Day Session
- Nursery fees are reviewed annually, and a full fee and funding guide is available on our website and provided during enquiries

Please do not message staff directly via Parentzone — messages do not reach staff through the app
You’ll receive a Parentzone guide before your child starts, explaining how to share home experiences with us

What does my child need to bring?
A named bag with at least one full change of clothes
Weather-appropriate items, such as:
Wellies, coats, hats and gloves (colder months)
Sun hat and sun cream (summer)
Nappies, wipes and nappy cream (if needed)
Comforter if your child uses one
Formula milk and bottles for babies (if applicable)
What will my child learn?
Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Children learn through play, exploration, communication, and hands-on experiences
Activities support:
Language and communication
Physical development
Social and emotional confidence
Staff observe, plan, and tailor learning to your child’s interests and developmental needs
How will I be informed about my child’s day and progress in development?
Daily updates and observations are shared through the Parentzone app
Staff share key information at drop-off and collection
Termly reviews track progress and set next steps for learning
Parents can request a meeting at any time if additional support or discussion is needed
Who will be looking after my child?
Every child is assigned a Key Person for consistency, emotional security, and individual attention
All staff are qualified, experienced, and DBS checked
We follow statutory EYFS staffing ratios for high-quality care and supervision
Do I need to re-apply for a space in the next room?
No — you do not need to re-apply
Room moves are planned when your child is developmentally ready
Parents are always informed and involved throughout the transition process
How will I know about special events and celebrations?
Information is shared via Parentzone and email
Notices may also be displayed within the nursery
When will I get an invoice?
Invoices are issued monthly

What happens if my child is ill?
Children must stay at home if they are unwell or contagious
We follow Public Health guidance for exclusion periods
If your child becomes ill during the day, we will contact you to collect them promptly
Will my child be supported if they have additional needs or disabilities?
Yes — we are an inclusive nursery and follow the SEND Code of Practice
Our SENDCo works closely with families and external professionals
Personalised support plans are used where necessary to help children thrive
Do you accept Tax-Free Childcare and Early Entitlement Funding?
Yes — we accept:

Early Entitlement Funding (universal and extended hours, where eligible)
Detailed funding information is included in our fee schedule
What if my child sleeps?
Each room has a calm, dedicated sleep space
We provide clean bedding, washed regularly
Sleep routines follow your child’s normal pattern and are observed by staff
How often do children go outside?
Children access outdoor play every day as part of our curriculum
Outdoor spaces are designed for movement, exploration, and nature-based learning
We go outside in most weather — please ensure your child has suitable clothing
